Vipps/MobilePay login

Vipps/MobilePay  login is a secure and convenient digital authentication service from Norway that allows users to access applications without the need to remember usernames or passwords. Instead, users confirm their identity through the Vipps app on their phone — making the login process fast, simple, and secure.

Vipps/MobilePay is one of the most widely used digital services in the Nordics, with a strong and growing user base:

  • Across the Nordic region, Vipps has over 12 million users in total.

How it works

  • On the sign-in screen of the Visma product, select Vipps/MobilePay as your login method (if available).

  • You’ll be redirected to Vipps to confirm your identity.

  • After confirmation, you’ll be signed in to the Visma product.

Remember me in this browser

When logging in with Vipps/MobilePay, you are given the option to select "Remember me in this browser."

While this might seem convenient, we strongly recommend that you do not enable it.

Why you should avoid using the “remember me” feature

  • Shared or public devices: Other people with access to the computer, tablet, or phone would be logged in as you without needing to confirm through Vipps.

  • Lost or stolen device: If your own device is misplaced, unauthorized users may gain access.

  • Browser tokens and session data: Choosing "Remember me in this browser" stores special tokens in your browser. If malware, malicious extensions, or attackers gain access to these tokens, they could log in as you without your approval.

Is Vipps 2FA?

Vipps/MobilePay login is not a 2FA (two-factor authentication) solution, but it does provide a strong level of authentication comparable to 2FA.

Here’s how:

What Vipps/MobilePay login includes:

  • Something you have: The user’s mobile phone with the Vipps app installed

  • Something you are or know: Authentication via the phone’s screen lock (e.g., Face ID, fingerprint, PIN)

This makes Vipps login multi-factor in nature, but:

  • It’s not a 2FA method in the same way that, for example, username + password + SMS code is

  • It’s passwordless in nature and relies on secure mobile identity verification through the Vipps app

Vipps login is both simple and secure, making it a safe alternative to traditional usernames and passwords. However, it is important to note that the security level of Vipps login is lower than Electronic ID (e.g. BankID) and Vipps is not 2FA.

For Visma products that require stronger identification BankID will typically be required instead.

Cost of Vipps/MobilePay login

Visma provides Vipps login completely free for both private individuals and businesses.
