Step by step guide to configure HelloID as a SAML Identity Provider within Visma
Follow the steps below to configure HelloID as a SAML Identity Provider within Visma. Keep Authentication Settings open in your browser while you access HelloID in a new window or tab. You will need to return to the Single Sign-On page to complete the configuration steps.
Prerequisites
HelloID account with Admin rights
All of your users under your account in Visma will need a pre-existing account in HelloID with exactly the same domain email address.
Configure Visma Single Sign-On app in HelloID
On the Single Sign-On page go to section 1. Copy the Visma metadata details into HelloID
Log into your HelloID administrative portal.
Go on the left menu and click Applications then Applications.
Click on Open application catalog, search for Visma.net(SAML) and click Add.
While on “General Information” name your application. Replace {customername} from Default Login URL field with your Visma MyDomain name. You can find your Visma My Domain in the Single-Sign On tab within Authentication Settings.
Click Save.
Go to the next step and click Save.
From “ Application” menu click your new application.
From the left menu select Configuration.
Replace { customer} from field ” Issuer” with your company name. You can find your company name in the URL of your HelloID instance e.g. http://visma.helloid.com
While on “ Configuration” replace { customername} with your Visma Mydomain name or copy from Authentication Settings section 1. Copy the Visma metadata details into HelloID the following:
Entity ID and paste it into Extra Audience field in HelloID
SAML Assertion Consumer and paste it into Endpoint/ACS URL and ACS validation list fields in HelloID
For field “ X509Certificate” select your certificate for signing the request.
Click Save.
Configure Visma Single Sign-On to use HelloID.
Select again your newly created application and while on the “General” tab click Download Metadata.
Upload this Metadata XML file into the section 2.Upload HelloID metadata into Visma from Authentication Settings. It contains all your HelloID information that Visma needs in order to complete the setup.
Continue with your Advanced configuration and click Save.
Testing Single Sign-On after Visma has made its configuration
To make sure SSO is working, perform this step:
To test SSO access go to your Visma MyDomain e.g. https://example.my.connect.visma.com directly, and then click the Sign in with HelloID button.
