# Getting Started

For an app to access data exposed by Visma APIs it must implement the OAuth 2.0 protocol for authorization.

Getting started with new APIs can be challenging. To simplify the process, we have created a systematic guide that walks you through the process of creating your first application in Visma Developer Portal and much more.

After completing the on-boarding process, you will be redirected to the Visma Developer Portal start page. This page contains shortcuts for different functionalities of the Portal.
