Feide (short for *Felles Elektronisk IDEntitet*) is Norway’s national solution for secure login and data sharing in education and research.

A large number of the digital learning resources and services used in Norwegian education use Feide as their login solution.

With a Feide account, pupils, students, researchers, and teachers use the same username and password to log in to all services that support Feide with Single Sign-On.

Feide accounts are created and managed by the organization the user belongs to (e.g., NTNU or Oslo Municipality), and user information is administered and stored locally by the organization.

If a password needs to be changed, this is not done separately for each service the user accesses, but once by the organization.

### Feide login through Visma Connect IdP

Visma Connect IdP is integrated with Feide, making it possible for users to access Visma products using their existing Feide account.

This means that:

- **Users do not need to create a separate Visma account** when their organization already provides them with a Feide account.
- **Single Sign-On (SSO)** is supported, so once logged in with Feide, the user can seamlessly access Visma services without re-entering credentials.
- **User authentication and password management remain under the responsibility of the home organization** (e.g., a university, municipality, or school). Visma never stores or manages Feide credentials.

#### Login flow

1. The user chooses **Feide** as the login method in a Visma product.
2. The request is redirected to **Visma Connect IdP**, which acts as an intermediary identity provider.
3. Visma Connect IdP forwards the login request to **Feide IdP**.
4. The user signs in with their **Feide account** credentials.
5. Feide verifies the user’s identity and passes the authentication response back to Visma Connect IdP.
6. The user is logged in to the Visma product.
